Bio

During his high school years, Shohei developed a deep appreciation for Japan's agricultural landscape while travelling across the country on a bike. He studied at Keio University in Japan which afforded an opportunity to study agricultural management abroad at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the USA. To further broaden his knowledge and experience, Shohei interned at farms in Brazil, Kagoshima and other locations. After graduating, he joined McKinsey & Company's agriculture team. Then, in 2016, Shohei founded Nihon Agri.

Production

Nihon Agri, Inc. is not only the largest apple grower in Japan but also the only Japanese grower attempting large-scale Japan-style production overseas. They are currently operating a strawberry and sweet potato farm in Thailand utilising Japanese plant varieties and are in the process of opening a kiwifruit and sweet potato farm in Japan for export to Asia.
