From 2010 to 2015, Akiko worked as a credit manager at ITOCHU Metals Corporation. At Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), from 2015 to 2018, she managed and supported SDGs Business Supporting Survey, in particular agricultural projects in Africa and Southeast Asia. In 2018, Akiko also completed an internship at Alphajiri Ltd. in Kenya where she managed a demonstration farm, growing garlic with a Kenyan farm adviser and guiding area officers in their cultivation and area management. Since 2019, she has been working at MYFARM, managing projects from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, while supporting Japanese agricultural companies in their expansion overseas through JICA's surveys.
